Last week, I realized that I have this book entitled " Mayada, Daughter of Iraq". My cousin got this book for free. He never likes to read book so he gave it to me. When I got this book, it did not really pique my interest to open the first page. I seldom read thick novel and story books, not even a thick non-fiction book.
The book cover is indeed classic. It just shows a Iraqi lady covering her face except her eyes. It simply describes her real appearance and her encounter in her life. There are a few pages photos binded in between the books. Well, the pictures really tell a lot of things about her background.
The author was one of the popular one writer and awarded as bestselling author of "Princess". I supposed it would probably not as boring as it looks like. I started reading the the note from the authos about the Iraqi lady. It narrated how the author met and approached the Iraqi lady "Mayada".
I read it page by page amd unconsciously, I have read one third of the book. It is rather fascinating. It discloses all the plight the Iraqi has and her excruciating moments in the jail. So helpless.
It is really interesting. Fortunately, I opened the first and read or I would never appreciate such a good piece of work.
